Energy Efficiency Can Be More Lucrative Than You Think
It’s because of its value in the PJM Capacity Market

Benefits of Energy Efficiency
Everyone knows the benefits of electrical energy efficiency, right? The cleanest energy is energy that is not used. Energy efficiency is the most environmentally benign means to:
- Reduce energy costs
- Have a smaller carbon footprint
- Support sustainable development
- Promote environmental stewardship
It is also possible to secure rebates from utility energy efficiency programs, but there is an additional, little-known benefit of energy efficiency: additional revenue from participating in the electric capacity market.
“But how do I receive this additional money?”
That’s where we come in.
We’re a member of the world’s largest electric market—the PJM Interconnection.
We, Electric Market Connection (EMC), can aggregate your project’s permanent energy reduction with that of other companies and offer the qualified energy savings into the PJM capacity market. PJM pays for that permanent energy reduction.
Then, we pay you. It’s that simple.
Who We Work With
Since 2010, we’ve helped some of America’s largest, up-and-coming companies earn more cash for their electrical energy efficiency projects, whether for lighting, HVAC or mechanical systems upgrades.
- Energy efficiency contractors and building owners of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses
- Industries including retail, food, pharmaceuticals, and more
- Institutions such as universities, hospitals, school districts, and all levels of government
- Partners are located throughout the Mid-Atlantic U.S. (within the PJM territory)
Is There A Catch?
We can tell you unequivocally that there is no catch.
EMC makes money only when we qualify your energy efficiency projects so that you can make additional money. You pay us nothing upfront—or ever, for that matter. After we qualify your project into the PJM energy capacity market, we send you a check, never vice versa.
Some of our partners were skeptical at first. But we challenged them to try just one project with us, and now, most of them send us projects all the time.
If you have any projects that you think would qualify, let your energy efficiency contractor know, or contact us directly. We will be happy to evaluate your project and answer any questions.
