Meet the energy efficiency experts that work diligently so you receive even more benefits for your energy efficiency projects.
Timothy J. Seelaus
As company founder and President, Tim is responsible for the vision, strategy, and direction of EMC. Under his leadership, EMC has become the largest non-utility participant in the PJM EE capacity market. As the principal energy efficiency expert on the EMC executive team, Tim is strongly committed to business development and building strong, long-lasting relationships with EMC partners. His expertise is unparalleled for navigating the PJM energy efficiency capacity market.
Tim is a professional engineer who has 30 years’ experience in the utility infrastructure market in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. A former executive with PPL Corp, he has participated in the successful closings of more than $5 billion in electric power transactions, including energy supply and electric distribution assets.
Tim was one of the founding executives of Bechtel’s EnergyWorks, which developed, owned, and operated on-site energy systems for large multinational corporations in Asia and Latin America using a variety of fuel sources. Prior to EnergyWorks, Tim worked at Air Products and Chemicals, where he developed multiple environmental and energy projects.
Tim established EMC Development Company in 2005 to foster the development of sustainable clean energy projects.
Tim’s foundation in energy efficiency likely resulted from growing up in a family of 14 children and learning to manage limited resources. Even before it was popular, Tim built and installed solar panels on his first home in Colorado in 1981. His early personal activities with energy efficiency also included a cross-country trip across the United States by bicycle.
